Embodied foraging with Colin Unsworth. At its simplest, foraging is about learning identification for medicine and safe consumption of food. Understanding species and habitats and knowing what is edible. Embodied foraging shifts the focus on to something more relational, how we pay attention, how we notice, and how we connect with the more than human world.
Embodied Foraging is a practice that allows us to be fully present and notice how our bodies respond to the nature around us. Sight, touch, tast and smell become ways of knowing, not just tools for identification.
Connection is not abstract. When you forage and harvest wild foods, you enter a relationship with the things you find. When you eat it you become one with it and it becomes part of your embodied experience. Foraging isn't just about observations in nature, it is about articipating in it.
Embodied Foraging invites you to understand your connection with the natural world through experience and interaction, not just with the mind, but with the whole body.
